Is a BetaList backlink dofollow?

Short answer

Yes, on the live BetaList listing we checked on 10 October 2026 the link to the product was a plain followed (dofollow) link. Their FAQ claims a do-follow link, and the page backs it up: the main "Visit Site" anchor had no rel attribute at all, and /startups/{slug}/visit answered 301 to the product site. The thumbnail links beside it did carry rel="noopener nofollow".

What BetaList costs

Paid only. Their FAQ is blunt about it: "All submissions are paid. There is no free submission option." Prices are only shown at the end of the submission form, so we could not read the number without paying. Full automatic refund if your startup is not selected.

Account and review time

Account: Required. Requesting /submit redirects straight to /login. Review time: Depends on the plan. Not published as a fixed number: "The expected timeline is shown when you choose a plan and in your confirmation email."

Who BetaList suits

A pre-launch product that looks good and needs early adopters, if you are willing to pay for the review and can absorb a rejection. Your product needs its own domain. They state they do not accept vercel.app, netlify.app or herokuapp.com subdomains, or direct app store links.

Step by step

  1. Open your listing. Copy the address of your live listing on BetaList.
  2. Run a link check. Paste it into a dofollow checker together with your own domain.
  3. Read the result. Followed passes ranking value; nofollow, ugc and sponsored are hints only. Sites change markup, so check your own listing.
